My young child is a preteen and has psoriasis around her eyes. The scaling and dry skin causes deep creasing which "make her look old", her words. She is wondering if there is anything to help reduce the dry, scaling skin in order to prevent wrinkles around her eyes.

Banana oil may help. I use it on my arms to control the flakiness and it really helps.

I just turned 34 and I feel her pain with the eye wrinkles from the psoriasis! Yes I am way older then her but I too believe the new burning, red, rough, dry, tightness of my psoriasis around my eyes, makes me look older. It’s mainly when I wake up, my eyes are so swollen then throughout the day the swelling goes down and it causes my eyelids to wrinkle up, bad. They were not like this before. I just started getting it around my eyes off and on past few months. I use organic coconut oil, it helps but to an extent. It’s also annoying, makes my eyes water and my vision blurry. But it does help. Currently looking for organic, all natural, eye creams that are safe to get in your eye, not having much luck. If you find something please share! Hope you find something that works for your daughter!

Thank you all for the feedback. My daughter worries every day about her appearance. I have to remind her about all the positive things we have in life, and over all she is still in excellent health. That is the most important thing I remind her of daily.

Just please remember that anything petroleum based should not touch mucous membrane unless specifically designed and prescribed to do so. There are ointments designed to go into the eyes but they are all sterile to begin with and designed to carry a medication or be completely benign and not absorbed. Someone strong in pharmacology- please correct me if I'm at all in error here, please. Have always been taught (LPN, then RN training and continuing education) to be paranoid about things that enter eyes.
