I'm 60 years old. I've had psoriasis patches on my face on & off for many years. The last couple of months they've gotten worse. I use a CPAP machine & particularly get flare ups where the mask sits though not exclusively. The respiratory people said to use petroleum jelly under the mask but it isn't helping.

Cpap machines are notorious for harboring germs. Cleaning them properly can require a second machine made for that purpose. Both skin and gut good-to-bad gut bacterial ratios have been shown higher in bad bacteria in people with psoriasis. Adding more doesn’t help. This is one reason that many use coconut oil instead of petroleum jelly, because it’s naturally antimicrobial.
Another solution is to replace your cpap machine with an oral appliance that open your airway properly while sleeping.
Consider reading my profile Story, where I share what I’ve learned about how nutritional changes can help under the Pagano links in the upper section and about nutritional testing that can show your inflammation levels in the Nutritional section near the bottom. Hope this helps.

If you have a dermatologist, ask for Vtama or Clobetasol, it might work better than petroleum jelly 🤷‍♀️
