Yep, coconut oil is supposed to help because it cuts down on the bad microbes that are supposed to be out of balance in the skin and gut of those with P.

It should write a shampoo update, lol, but try Trader Joe’s brand Tea Tree Oil Shampoo and Conditioner..

I use Dr Bronners Tea Tree Oil liquid cleanser ( it’s not literally a soap ) diluted with water and put it in a foaming pump. ( it’s concentrated, so a 32 ox bottle will last a lonnnng time) I like this better than the other Pso specific products because there are no bad chemicals, and it’s pH neutral.

Lots of ppl use otc Coal Tar shampoos like Tgel or Selenium Sulphide products like Selsun Blue or Head and Shoulders.

The topical I’m using ( Vtama ) works anywhere on the outside of the body, so scalp is exterior. I write about that in depth in my profile story.. it’s been a real miracle for me.

The thing few derms will ever address is that this is a gut/skin/brain axis condition. If you’re eating things that foster it, no amount of lotions potions shots or pills are really addressing your gut. It requires lifestyle changes sadly too few ppl want to or are willing to change. Look at some of the updates linked in my profile header. Try the Pagano interview one.

Coconut oil works for some

I have used shampoos w tea tree oil. Not impressed by ones with coal tar, selenium. Salucytic acid helps both scalp and skin (cerave with salycytic acid-lotion). Have used rollerball of cedarwood, lime, rosemary essential oils diluted with coconut oil prior to shampoo to loosen plaque. Contrary to some posts, I continue to color my hair under advice from stylist who also has psoriasis and PsA. She suggested Pureology; I have also used Alterna. Both are over the counter available at Ulta and Sephora. While I live Alterna, the container is difficult to get product out (slso have PsA. Went to what my new stylist uses; it’s good but pricey

Thank you all for the suggestions. I will be trying the coconut oil and be more consistent with my dietary restrictions.
