The big thing is to tell them what's going on before they find it themselves. If you explain that you have a noncontagious skin condition, they will normally be totally fine and understanding with it.

Hi, Lonnie2. I have scalp psoriasis as well, but I regularly go for a hair cut. You can talk to the beautician upfront and discuss with them you problem. Most are aware of the disease and wont have a problem to style your hair.

My hairdresser noticed mine straight away and said she has loads of clients with it. She said that most of them say the hair colouring makes the scalp psoriasis go away, which I had noticed from bleaching my hair at home! So it was nice to have the conversation and she wasn't at all grossed out

Lonnie, I just put Garnier Fructis…dry scalp serum on my scalp. It’s got peppermint oil in it and it feels cool and good. I’m experimenting so I can’t say if it works yet.

I go to the beauty school every week for a haircut and shampoo. The students have to get permission from their supervisor to cut and wash my hair. They have to wear gloves to work on people with scalp lesions. I’m now wearing the Uniform cut; a style popular with older women. It’s a man’s haircut. I’m trying to get air to my scalp. I take D3 twice a week and almost never get any sun. I was on Otezla about 5 years and psoriasis was gone for that time. It stopped working. Skyrizi shots made the psoriasis worse. The sunbox at the dermatology clinic made it worse too. No ointment or cream works for me. A&D Cream has helped; so does Sarna.
