Methotrexate can and does lower white blood cells. This and your liver need to be monitored on it.
Yes, my rheumatologist prescribed Methotrexate, along with folic acid to prevent hair loss) for my psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis. After a couple months had to stop. It intensified my depression and I experienced unpleasant suicidal ideation. I’m now trying bio-similars, most recently Yesintek (bio-similar of Stelara). Amjevita (bio-similar of Humira), and initially prescribed, which was not effective for me. It felt like taking a placebo. Anyway, my body (and brain/mind) did not like the Methotrexate.
I took it for about 6 months. Worked pretty well but I lost half my hair so I stopped as it stressed me out! Not everyone has that reaction. Good luck.
