@A MyPsoriasisTeam Member. If you're worried about heart and overall health, hands down without a doubt the best thing you can do for yourself is go on a strict diet of ZERO ultra processed foods, not more than 15 grams total sat and trans fats combined daily intake, zero added salt and refined sugars. 70oz water a day and nothing else to drink but water. Exercise at least one hour a day 6 days a week. Keep your total body fat less than 25 pounds. This will work if you're REALLY that worried about it. People will do that which means the most to them. ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ™

It's understandable to feel anxious about your health. Psoriatic arthritis (PsA) can increase the risk of heart disease, particularly coronary artery disease (CAD), which can lead to heart attacks. However, there are steps you can take to manage this risk:

- Regular Screenings: Get screened for cardiovascular risk factors like high blood pressure, cholesterol, and blood sugar.
- Healthy Diet: Consider a plant-based diet, eat more fish, and reduce sugar intake.
- Exercise: Regular exercise can help, even if it's challenging with PsA. A physical therapist can help find suitable exercises.
- Quit Smoking: If you smoke, quitting can significantly reduce your risk.
- Medication Management: Work with your rheumatologist to ensure your PsA medications are not increasing your heart disease risk.

Discuss your concerns with your healthcare team to develop a personalized plan to manage your risks and anxiety.
