Well I must admit it's easier for a man to shave his head than a woman , I had a few problems with psoriasis yrs ago and started using a shampoo called Tgel and it helped a lot then I decided to shave my hair all off and being truthful I've not had a problem with psoriasis since but again it's easier for a man than a woman x
I cut my hair short too. I have had really bad scalp breakouts and as the plaques fell off they took big chunk's of my hair with them. Also I have been diagnosed with Frontal Fibrosing Alopecia, which means my front hairline is quickly moving up and back my hair. Also the hair between my bangs and about half way to the top of my scalp is thinning pretty quickly. They predict that I'll unfortunately be bald up that far in the future. I'm using clobetasol in liquid form to try to slow dow the loss of hair.
I've shaved my head down completely twice and now keep it short. I found it helps considerably if I'm having a severe flare up on my scalp. I'll usually use T-Gel or T-Sal or just Head and Shoulders and massage it into the bare scalp and let it sit for 5-10 minutes before rinsing. I also spend short amounts of time exposing my scalp to direct sunlight if it's shaved and now that it's buzzed. The rest of my body is in pretty bad shape but my scalp has not had a terrible flare in several years since I started keeping it buzzed. Its sucked being in the position twice when having to shave my head was my best option for relief, I understand how bad it can get.
