Hi TJ! For me at home when my hands and/or wrists are flaring I use the compression gloves I got on Amazon. If they’re really bad I’ll use braces that limit use of my wrists & my hands. I still have use of my fingers and upper hands. When my back is in the fritz I use my cane. It really helps & it helps my knees, too. I hope you find what works for you.
For pain and discomfort relief during flares, both heat and cold therapy tools can be extremely helpful:
Heat therapy options:
- Heating pad
- Warm bath (20-minute soak)
- Microwaved moist dishcloth
Cold therapy options:
- Gel cold packs
- Bag of frozen vegetables
- Ice pack in a baggie
These methods help because heat Show Full Answer
Compression gloves do work as well as hand braces I use one that specifically for my thumb but covers my entire hand. Fingers are available to use. With compression gloves make sure you get the right size, measure your hand before ordering. I hope you are feeling better and things settle down soon. I usually wear my compression gloves at night while I’m sleeping.
I preferred the heating pad over ice...it heaps a little better than ice
CindyDavis 3... I also use compression gloves from Amazon. They are really good too. Lucky I bought 2 pairs because now I can only find one pair.
