I found clobetasol to be highly effective! I use the foam formulation, as the solution irritated my scalp. It does not leave residue in your hair, so no wet or oily looking hair. Two weeks of using the foam twice daily and here it is December and I've been free of psoriasis on my scalp.

What home remedies work best for very itchy, flaky scalp psoriasis?

For very itchy, flaky scalp psoriasis, several natural remedies may provide relief when used alongside medical treatments:

Oils for moisture and itch relief:
- Coconut oil applied overnight can help lift flakes and soothe itching. A MyPsoriasisTeam member shared that using pure coconut oil every other week helped significantly with flakes and itching.
- Extra-virgin olive oil can dissolve plaques within an hour according to one member's experience, with relief lasting about a week.
- Tea tree oil may help reduce itchiness and dryness.

For scalp itch specifically:
- Apple cider vinegar rinse (mix 1 part vinegar with 1 part water) can help stop the itch. One member found this helpful when used as a rinse after shampooing.

For flaking and scales:
- Dead Sea salt soaks can help remove scales.
- Aloe vera may reduce redness and scaling.

A MyPsoriasisTeam member noted that for severe scalp coverage, they used salicylic acid and tea tree oil shampoos, though managing scale regrowth remained challenging.

Keep in mind that home remedies can sometimes irritate skin further, so it's worth discussing these options with your dermatologist to find what's safest and most effective for your situation.
