Hi Chrysti... Tea tree is a nice fragrance/aromatherapy. I have seen some results from using it but the skin sorta gets used to it & it's just a good smelling topical.๐Ÿ™‚

Does tea tree oil help with scalp psoriasis?

Tea tree oil may help soothe scalp psoriasis symptoms, though more research is needed. Its anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties could potentially reduce itching, pain, and plaques associated with scalp psoriasis.

The National Psoriasis Foundation recommends tea tree oil shampoos as a natural remedy to use alongside doctor-directed treatment for scalp psoriasis relief.

How to use it for scalp psoriasis:

- Look for shampoos containing tea tree oil
- Create your own mixture by diluting tea tree oil with a carrier oil like coconut oil (1 drop tea tree oil to 12 drops carrier oil)
- Always do a patch test first to check for allergic reactions

Member experiences:

A MyPsoriasisTeam member shared: "I use Dr. Bronner's Tea Tree Oil Soap. It comes in a concentrate. I use it all over my body --- very soothing."

Another member uses a healing ointment with tea tree oil on their scalp psoriasis along with other areas.

Important cautions:

- Never apply undiluted tea tree oil directly to your skin
- Some people experience allergic reactions, including breathing difficulties or skin irritation
- Always consult your doctor before trying tea tree oil, especially if pregnant or breastfeeding
- Tea tree oil is not FDA-regulated and should complement, not replace, prescribed treatments
