Bad inflammation can effect breathing. But I don't think is specifically linked to psa. Definitely need to get your lungs checked for diminished capacity. I learned just last year that when we reach 40 yrs old we start to lose breath capacity in our lungs unless we are runners or do regular aerobics. One way to stop and reverse it is to take deep filling breaths in the morning. One belly breath and one chest breath. And again at night. Slow in And slow out. It's a pure case of use it or lose it.

Can psoriatic arthritis affect breathing during winter months?

Psoriatic arthritis can affect your lungs and breathing, though this isn't specifically tied to winter. Research shows that people with psoriatic arthritis have a higher risk of developing certain lung conditions compared to the general population.

These lung conditions may include:
* Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)
* Interstitial lung disease (ILD)
* Asthma

The inflammatory process that causes joint pain in psoriatic arthritis can also affect lung tissue. This systemic inflammation throughout your body may lead to breathing difficulties regardless of the season.

Common respiratory symptoms to watch for include wheezing, coughing, shortness of breath, and thicker mucus. If you're experiencing breathing issues, it's important to discuss them with your healthcare provider, as regular checkups can help catch lung conditions early.

To protect your lung health year-round, consider avoiding smoking, staying physically active, maintaining a healthy weight, staying hydrated, and keeping up with recommended vaccines.
