I agree with Karen. I have had back surgeries and recently a reverse replacement of my left shoulder and move the bicep muscle. If you are on Methotrexate or other meds for Ps and PsA you must stop until the doctor agrees that you are healed.
We are stronger than we think we are. I take care of everyone else now hubby after 3 strokes, Stomach tube and other problems. But now I can not do anything either! One handed, can not use the stairs, but responsible for doing everything, but mowing the lawn. Good luck to Charlotte and Karen.😘

Hi! Wish I could help regarding this question. I am very new to psoriasis which came after a Covid vaccine. I’m only hoping each day that the psoriatic arthritis will not plaque my life as I watch my husband daily with diabetic neuropathy. Every day without pain is a blessing after migraines from brain surgery that saved my life.My only wish is that your back surgery relieves your existing pain and no arthritis rears it’s ugly head. Please remember that no matter what happens to us we are stronger than we think and can beat anything:)

- Slower healing — Ongoing inflammation from PsA may affect how quickly tissues heal
- Medication considerations — Some PsA medications (like biologics or methotrexate) may need to be paused before surgery, so discuss this with both your rheumatologist and surgeon
- Pain management — Post-surgical pain can overlap with PsA pain, making it important to have a clear pain management plan in place Recovery will be an important focus.
