Having used Nizoral for 1st time, and very pleased with just small amount of itching, I need to stop the laurel sulfate shampoo I use on other days. Are there recommended Amazon available shampoos for this? I read about tea tree oil.
Thanks

What shampoos are recommended for scalp psoriasis that are sulfate-free and available online?

It's great that Nizoral is helping with the itching! You're right to avoid sodium lauryl sulfate, as people with psoriasis are typically advised to steer clear of this ingredient. Look for shampoos labeled "sulfate-free."

Here are some options that MyPsoriasisTeam members have found helpful:

Coal tar shampoos:
* MG217 (available at CVS and likely online) - contains both salicylic acid and coal tar versions
* T-Gel shampoo
* Tarsum shampoo

Tea tree oil options:
* OGX tea tree mint shampoo
* Paul Mitchell tea tree oil shampoo
* TheraNeem Scalp Therapy Shampoo (contains neem oil and other soothing oils)

Other helpful ingredients:
* Zinc pyrithione shampoos (at least 1% concentration)
* Salicylic acid shampoos like Dermarest
* Denorex shampoo

A MyPsoriasisTeam member shared: "I use tea tree shampoo and rub neem oil into my scalp." Another noted success with adding tea tree essential oil to their regular shampoo.

Before trying any new product, it's worth discussing with your dermatologist to ensure it won't interfere with other treatments. Many members find that letting medicated shampoos sit on the scalp for 10-15 minutes before rinsing provides better results.
