I switched to sports bras and apply cream then a soft piece of cotton over the cream which is held in place by the sports bra. Hope this helps - I feel your pain!

I have, it rubs the area. Even putting my ointment on it hurts so much. It’s in an awful spot and so painful-I wish I could go without but unfortunately I’m not able to go bra-less as the girls are way too big. 😂

What are the best bra options when you have a sore patch under your breast from psoriasis?

Dealing with psoriasis under the breast can make wearing a bra really uncomfortable. This area is prone to inverse psoriasis, which typically appears as smooth, discolored skin in moist skin folds rather than the typical scaly plaques.

Here are some fabric and clothing strategies that may help:

- Choose bras made from 100% cotton or other breathable fabrics like bamboo, lyocell, or Tencel
- Avoid synthetic materials like nylon and polyester that can trap heat and moisture
- Look for bras without underwire or restrictive bands that might irritate the affected area
- Consider wireless bralettes or soft cotton sports bras for less friction
- Opt for moisture-wicking fabrics designed for sensitive skin
- Remove tags and look for smooth seams that won't rub against your skin

Some companies make clothing specifically for people with skin conditions, featuring moisture-wicking fabrics and seamless designs. Depending on your insurance, you might be able to use HSA or FSA funds for these specialized garments.

Give your topical treatments time to fully absorb before getting dressed to avoid staining and reduce irritation from the bra rubbing against freshly applied medication.

Talk with your dermatologist about the best treatment approach for this sensitive area, as inverse psoriasis often requires different management than plaque psoriasis.
