Great question! So, can heating help with psoriasis? The answer is: it depends on how it's used.

Heat can help loosen stiff muscles and joints, which may be helpful if psoriatic arthritis is part of the picture. Options like warm baths, heating pads, or a warm damp cloth can offer some relief.

However, heat can also be a trigger for some people. Here are a few things to keep in mind:

- Hot water can dry out skin and worsen psoriasis symptoms
- Warm (not hot) baths of around 20 minutes are generally better tolerated
- Sweating from heat can irritate skin and trigger flares
- Air conditioning and heating systems both dry out the air, which can worsen dry, flaky skin

A humidifier can help counteract the drying effects of indoor heating by adding moisture back into the air.

Cold therapy is actually better for reducing inflammation and pain, so some people prefer alternating between heat and cold to find the most relief.

Everyone's psoriasis is different, so it really comes down to trial and error. It's always a good idea to check with a dermatologist or doctor before making changes to your routine.

Good day SherriSmith, the question you asked is a good question, & as AI told us above. .Myself, personally , HEAT has never been a good friend to me... It will dry me out, skin and all. If my skin Is not taken care of with EXTRA TENDER CARE, then all the problems internally will asserted itself, into a worst situation. This I know from my living experiences. As said above, each Person is made up unquinely, no one is the same, therefore, not all treatments will work the same. There is a Standard, basic Firsts but only by TRIAL & ERROR will one really Know, what works & what does not... also what has done Wonders in bettering of your skin and pain, like it 😢 has with me, StopS ✋️ working after a time, or some of them Helped a fair amount but decreases in it effectiveness, no treatment in my Experiences has ever Struck a Home Run, in my Park. That is where other ways to help with staying as heathy as one can ,during & between all Treatments, will be introduced .This is not a easy disease, like all others, but it can change, the way of all things. Change is a constant, but we can try our best to understand as much as one can ,about YOURSELF, what triggers you, what shows a improvement, what upset your rhythm, meaning anything that can turn the tables, It can with Ps, PsA, Ra, etc... Important: Your Own Personnal Mental health, it is the # 1 issue that is to myself, Is one of the Top great priority to CARE FOR. If one gets depressed, or anxious, and You probably Will, get and be ahead of This Game, because those problems will NOT help your skin, your joints, it only will increase the intensity of the Negative! Yes,I know, who thinks this way, A Person who has experienced Every Single thing, that has been written down here, today, that woukd be ME, of course, plus Multitudes of other Beautiful Soul with Our Disease. One has to say ready for the twist & turns, stay as far ahead of this, to Keep a steady Course. But always have an Opened MIND to the good & bad possibilities. People have Lived and survived all of this with less Information ( past decades ).. again this MyPsoriasisTeam and its,
many members, we are all here to have others help guide us and for others to also hand our hands ✋️ You will get this, in time. There are plenty helping hands all around you, my friend take care
