I guess the old fashioned OTC remedies would be using a heating or ice pack depending on how the area hurts. 20 on and 20 off. Try resting the area as needed. I would only use an ice pack if any swelling.
I hear you on otezla.. It was gut disturbing for me. I only noticed it would be really effective on plaque psoriasis as the plaques in days were basically gone. It was incredible but very hard on the gut.
I would say the side effect wasn't worth it.
I guess we try to work with our condition and not work against it by doing things that help us relieve it. Because we can't make it go away otherwise. I'm finding that out. Even when you think with remission it's good you wait years something triggers it and there it is again to remind you it didn't leave.
I hope you find ways to soothe your pain soon.
Sorry you are having troubles. I would tell the dr no, and if there is push back find a new one. I took Otezla, while it worked great on the PSA the side effects were too much. I was under the understanding is is a more powerful medidcation than Tremfya, but I am not a Dr. I have a friend who switched from Tremfya to another biologic and had a lot of success. I also believe that diet and other environmental things can contribute to the inflamation. My allergies are alive and kicking in the peak growing season. The higher the pollen count the more I hurt. PSA and allerigies all work into my inflamtion equation. I, personally, have several dietary intollerences due to this. The worst intollerence is wheat, then corn, then rice followed by many other grains. Its worth the time to figure out if what you eat or what you are around cause your issues with arthritis to worsen. I do love my rolling frozen water bottles to ease my feet issues when they hurt as well. Good luck finding your answers, trust yourself.

Tendon pain with psoriatic arthritis (PsA) is something many MyPsoriasisTeam members deal with, and it can be really frustrating — especially when a treatment that worked for years suddenly seems less effective. That's actually not uncommon with biologics like Tremfya.
It's completely valid to push back on Otezla if it Show Full Answer
