Great that UVB has been working well! Handheld UVB devices are definitely something people with psoriasis have explored, and there's some encouraging feedback from MyPsoriasisTeam members who've tried them.

A few things members have shared:

- "My at-home unit helps me keep a lid on flare-ups!"
- "I feel much better after my third treatment. My skin is less scaly and soft."
- One member specifically noted a handheld UV comb helped ease pain and itch for scalp psoriasis. Research also backs up at-home phototherapy. A recent study found nearly 1 in 3 people achieved clear or almost-clear skin after 12 weeks of at-home UVB therapy — actually slightly better results than in-office treatment.

That said, there are some risks to keep in mind:

- Skin redness or tenderness (like mild sunburn)
- Mild stinging or burning
- Long-term risk of skin cancer with excessive use
- Premature skin aging

It's worth checking in with a dermatologist before starting, especially to get guidance on safe dosing.
