Question About Humira

A MyPsoriasisTeam Member asked a question 💭
Teaneck, NJ

I’ve been using Humira for a while now! Whenever I stop using it, I start gettting psoriasis in areas that I never had before. And it coming back faster, thicker, more heavier every time! Does that happen with anyone else ? I feel like it’s making me more dependent on the medication, it’s destroying me from the inside!

The biological treatment suppresses the psoriasis so when you stop it come back with vengeance unfortunately.

It's not meant to be stopped and started. you could become immune to the biologic and the doctor will have to put you on a new type of drug because you no longer respond to the Humira. My doctor told me if I stopped it would come back worse.

They say once you stop a biologic it gets worse before it gets better.

Yes! This seems to happen with biologics unfortunately!

Biologics NEVER work as well if you stop taking them and may actually build tolerance and quit working. The key is to never stop taking your biologic unless you want to see just how bad your PS or PSA can get.
