Any Suggestions For How To Brush/comb Hair With Scalp Psoriasis?

My 11yo daughter is on humira for Crohn’s and it seems to be causing psoriasis. Her entire scalp is flaking and red. The dermatologist prescribed treatments but I’m having a hard time applying because she says it hurts to even touch her hair.

I was told years ago, it takes a "trauma" to bring psoriasis to the "surface". Mine surfaced after the birth of my unexpected twin daughters. I would apply what little you can then wrap in saran wrap or a shower can and have her leave on as long as he can. I found TGel to be the best shampoo for me. Good luck.

Perhaps try to start with the coal tar shampoo as directed. Not convinced biologic med can cause Ps to appear but I've often got control of one type of arthritis only to have another try to assert itself on me. So sorry she's going through this at such a young age, Mom and I feel your heart for your daughter. God bless you both.

How awful. Im so sorry to hear shes suffering! That is gut wrenching. I caution you on the use of any types of steroid solutions on plaque psoriasis. My Rheumatologist advised that using steroids of any kind is effective at the time BUT steroids cause Psoriasis to appear in places it has never appeared before. Somen of tbose places are unusual and very much unwanted. I am on Otezla and have been sinxe August. My plaque psoriasis cleared up instsntly snd I have not had a single bit of it since being on Otezla. It does have some unplrasant side effects to overcome along tnr way but they were temporary for me. I sure hope this helps and your sweet little one gets better FAST!!
