I have been on Humira for 14 months and have responded amazingly. Blood tests showed inflammation at zero for every month. Then after injecting two doses over a month that were delayed in shipping, I have a dramatic increase in symptoms again. I see my rheumatologist in two days, but has anyone experienced this? I don’t think I’ve all of a sudden developed resistance to the drug this quickly.
Both Humira and Skyrizi are owned by Abbvie. Through the company they have a program that you do not have to pay anything and it is not through your insurance. I had used Humira with some bad side effects and started Skyrizi recently. I pay $0. I am on a Medicare Advantage plan but they do not go through Medicare. You have to fill out a form and have your doctor finish filling it out. Ask your doctor about Abbvie Patient assist. I wish you good luck with which whatever may work for you.
I was on Humira for 6 months and then all of a sudden I had huge flare-ups, plaque, inverse and arthritis, and had to get off of it. A real bummer. I have switched to Skyrizi for almost two months now and am hoping it will start working soon. Hang in there and let your docs know what is going on so that they can help you. Good luck and I hope that you will be feeling better soon with the Humira.
Hi there. I got mine 2 yrs ago. On humira. Did miracles, after 4 months, rashes everywhere. Now on Taltz and it’s awesome for me, other than the fact that my insurance is denying it all of a sudden and I have nothing for the 6 days. Take care, very frustrated and sad. I’m in San Mateo. Take care.
Thank you!
This is why I’m afraid to even start trying Humira and other biologics. I couldn’t take the methotrexate or the other pills. Everything got much worse. I react opposite to many drugs. Insurance won’t cover the biologics and if you’re on Medicare they don’t give you a break from the pharmaceutical companies. It’s a mess! I canceled my appointment with a new Dr. First rheumatologist was awful! I am expected to drive over 2 hrs for my appointment and haven’t been able to drive since 2019! I’m taking ibuprofen and doing my own skin care. I’m just so tired of spending all my time and money on things that make me worse instead of living life!
