Hi All,

Does anyone have any idea of how I can make my nails look better, or something to cover it up? I’m a nurse and I feel embarrassed most times with the way my nails look. I’m tired of explaining my problem to people. I want to stay away from nail shop because I think that sometimes trigger my psoriasis. It’s so hard to pin point what triggers it at all.

I would like suggestions please.

There are several ways to care for and protect your nails while managing psoriasis symptoms. Here are some key strategies for healthier nails:

• Keep nails short to prevent catching and tearing
• Moisturize regularly to keep nails and skin supple
• Avoid biting or picking at nails and cuticles
• Use strengthening nail polish instead of artificial/gel nails
• Consider nail polish strips as a gentler alternative
• Trim nails with scissors or clippers rather than using buffers or files For protection during work as a nurse, consider wearing multiple layers of gloves:

• Cotton glove as the base layer
• Nitrile glove over the cotton
• Additional protective layer if needed

This multilayer approach can help protect your nails while working with water and chemicals. You may also want to ask your dermatologist about prescription nail polishes specifically designed to help reduce the appearance of nail psoriasis.
