Curious when everyone started with their Psoriasis? It didn't start with me until my son was born, I was 25.

I noticed mine in my thirties. Probably just past mid 30s. It seemed I had an auto accident and I felt very extremely achy not long after. Like I was nothing but bones and I remember a rainy day when I was sitting at my kitchen table and felt like I just ached.
Then the swelling began, fingers toes and then some patches of psoriasis followed after my diagnosis ironically that I recall.

That was quite a while ago but I remember that day like yesterday. That seemed to trigger and make it show up. Fortunately this illness behaves at times if you want to call it that, where it is quiet but then it flares up.

Starting psoriasis at 25, especially after a major life event like childbirth, is quite common. Psoriasis typically begins to show symptoms during two main age ranges:

- Ages 15 to 25 (younger onset)
- Ages 50 to 60 (later onset)

Some people also experience onset between ages 30 and 39. The condition can actually develop at any age, from infancy through later adulthood.

Many MyPsoriasisTeam members share similar experiences. One member mentioned having psoriasis since infancy, while another member has been dealing with it since age 21 and is now 52. Another member's first outbreak occurred at age 12 during summer camp, triggered by anxiety, though they weren't officially diagnosed until 17.

Major life stressors, hormonal changes, or emotional events can trigger that first outbreak in people who are genetically predisposed to psoriasis. It sounds like your son's birth may have been that trigger for you.
