Depending on how much there is of it, she could cover it up if it seems too commented on. Or if she isn't able to if I were on that position I'd say it's a secret science experiment..id say only as you can feel like one at times with this or ppl may just look confused and not pry more?
Or she can just say, it's a "birthday present"...as it's hereditary often..and say sorry it is just a very limited thing.
I know it can be difficult to deal with but once someone wanted to know at a store when they asked of a product I was getting otc to treat it. I found out their bf has the condition. I guess going over it was TMI and she went back in the store when we both were leaving at the same time ironically. I guess education about it is more than ppl can handle?
My daughter was teased when little as she had a tumor and was accused of being pregnant as it grew..it was removed but this condition can't be. Try to tell your daughter kids are curious more than they should be but remind her most grown ups aren't..so hang in there as she grows up.ignore ignorance
If it becomes too much she may want to talk to a therapist for how to cope or respond to others then.
