Any tips on after washing your hair? Are there any treatments you can apply to hair or scalp after washing. And is it better to blow dry or air dry hair?

You may need to see a Derm. When I had it I was prescribe Clobetasol solution and it worked like a charm. I also used T sel about every other week- it stops off all excess buildup from products and scales. But it does not do it alone. Best of luck.

When managing plaque psoriasis on the scalp, it's generally better to air dry your hair. Using a blow dryer can expose your scalp to high heat, which may irritate the skin and potentially lead to a psoriasis flare-up. If you must use a blow dryer, keep it on a cool setting and avoid direct contact with the scalp.

Thank you. I’ve been using Nizoral which is over the counter and I’ve also used Selenium Sulfide which was prescribed but neither is making it go away. I was trying to not wash my hair everyday but when I do that my scalp itches so bad so I’ve been washing everyday now and it helps with the itching but I still have huge scales that seem to grow back overnight. It’s just very tiring and I catch myself itching my scalp without even knowing it anymore. It’s become part of my life and its embarrassing.

When my scalp is bad I use T-Gel shampoo. My dermatologist prescribed a steroid for the scalp to use after shampooing, too. It worked well, I only needed it a few times. The best thing I've found for maintenance is Briogio Destined for Density Shampoo/Conditioner. It's pricey, but works well for me. I let my hair air-dry in a satin bonnet for best results. To answer your question, I don't think blow drying makes the psoriasis worse, but air drying has helped me to not shed as much hair.
